Caterpillar Pizza

What we used:

Bagels/mini pizza bases/english muffins, tomato puree, grated cheese, pizza toppings (we used peppers, olives and mushrooms), baking tray.

This activity is good for:

  • making choices and allowing children to demonstrate their own preferences
  • early science as the child sees the changes from before and after cooking the food
  • experiencing new tastes and making food fun
  • learning to use utensils safely and developing fine manipulative skills as they control them
  • building confidence in their own abilities and giving children a sense of pride in their achievements

Apple and Pear Printing

What we used:

Apples, Pears, paper, paints.

This activity is good for:

  • exploring with colour mixing and making patterns
  • experimenting with making marks in different ways
  • holding and manipulating objects with increasing control
  • fostering creativity
  • encouraging children to talk about what they are doing and what they see
