Make some spring flowers using egg cartons and tissue paper!

With springtime on its way soon (we hope!) we decided to make some daffodils to brighten up the room. Firstly the girls painted some egg cartons orange for the centre of the flower. We then threaded a pipe cleaner through some yellow tissue paper and the egg carton (A and O needed quite a lot of help for this bit). Once the daffodils were made, Ava decided that we need to put the flowers into a vase. We dug out a glass jar and she painted it with some yellow and orange paints to match the daffodils.

What we used:

  • egg carton
  • yellow tissue paper
  • orange, red, yellow paint
  • green pipe cleaners
  • glass jar

This activity is good for:

  • fine manipulative skills, hand-eye coordination
  • talking about spring time, learning more about their environment and the natural world
  • making marks, creating by combining different media
